Human rights body questions Internal Security Agency's justification of Dughman's death
Human Rights Solidarity said that the justification issued by the Internal Security Agency regarding the death of activist Siraj Dughman was discredited and unacceptable.
The organization said in a statement regarding deaths under arbitrary detention in Haftar’s prisons in Benghazi and Garnada that three citizens died within three days while they were under arbitrary detention in the period between April 19 and 21.
Libyan Central Bank to start "Article IV" consultations with IMF in May
The Central Bank of Libya (CBL) announced the launching of "Article IV" consultations for the second year in a row with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) team as well as relevant state institutions at the beginning of May 2024.
This announcement came during a meeting at the IMF's headquarters in Washington, DC, last Saturday, in the presence of the Governor Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir, the Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department at IMF, Jihad Azour, and others. The meeting touched upon preparations for Article IV consultations for the current year, after their success last year.
North Africa Classic Car Show
The first show for classic car owners in North Africa was held in Tripoli by Tripoli Classic Car Club, in the presence of the mayor of the central municipality of Tripoli, the ambassadors of Algeria and Mexico in Libya, and classic cars fans.

Public Prosecutor orders detention in warehouse arson case
The Public Prosecutor's Office has ordered the detention of officials from an electrical works company and two guards, pending an investigation into charges of deliberately setting fire to the firm's warehouse in the Al-Karimia area of Tripoli.
According to the investigations, the fire was caused by a deliberate placement of flammable materials ignited by a heat source. Consequently, the blaze consumed a warehouse housing components and electrical equipment valued at 179,370,264 Libyan Dinars.
National "Reading Challenge" takes off, Souk Al-Jumaa hosts first stage

The Director of Kufra Teaching Hospital, Ismail Al-Ayda, has expressed concern about the spread of infectious diseases among displaced individuals arriving from Sudan to Kufra. He noted that the Ministry of Health has declared a state of emergency in response to this situation.
Al-Ayda described the health situation in the city as extremely critical, highlighting that a significant number of displaced individuals are suffering from infectious and potentially life-threatening diseases such as tuberculosis, AIDS, viral hepatitis, malaria, and various skin conditions.
